⛸️ Is The 1.2 Tsi Engine Reliable
29. With the demise of the 1.6 diesel and 1.8 turbo petrol options, the only choice for more power in the Yeti is to go for the 2.0-litre diesel in either 108- or 148bhp forms. The more powerful
This 1.0L TSI looks tiny inside the Polo's engine bay, which now has so much of empty space. Make no mistake though, it packs a punch! It has taken Volkswagen 5 years to introduce an updated TSI engine in India! The 1.0 TSI belongs to the EA-211 family of engines, introduced with a view to replace the old & ageing EA-111 TSI motors.
VW is a reliable car, their cars score highly in reliability tests, but all cars have a weak link. In this post, I’ll cover the 2.0 Tsi engine issues, common VW problems, and the emission scandal. When I was a kid growing up, the VW bug was the trusty family wheels to have.
1.2 TSI or 1.4 TSI. Simple answer, try both and decide. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a a single 1.4TSi - the design changed numerous times due to problems. Since the OP is looking to buy the ST he will only be able to buy one fitted with the current reliable belt drive engine.
We recommend an oil change for this engine every 15,000 kilometers. It is also advisable to have the compression checked every 50,000 kilometers. 1.2 TSI problems can also occur due to frequent short trips. The engine is then not properly brought up to operating temperature and is therefore only moved when it is cold.
TSI Engines. The TSI engine superseded the turbo FSI with important technological and mechanical updates to address the downfalls of the FSI. It was first introduced in Volkswagen’s and Audi’s in 2008.5 and is still found in vehicles today. The engine base for these engines is mainly EA888 and it puts down anywhere from 170-310hp and 207
My concerns were immediately laid to rest, that 1.4 TSi was a quite remarkable engine with its diesel like low & mid range torque. However when it came to the Yeti with its less aerodynamic profile my concerns were once again raised by going to an even smaller capacity engine of the1.2 TSi.
The MK3 1.2Tsi is a completely different engine - it is the new modular design EA211. Bears little similarity to the 1.2Tsi in the MK2 - it even has a belt driven camshaft (was chain). It is significantly more efficient and combined with a much lighter chassis, economy on the MK3 is greatly improved.
The 1.2 TSI does offer extra power, but there have been occasional concerns about its reliability. Some owners have reported issues with the TSI engine, which can lead to higher maintenance costs. On the other hand, the 1.2 MPI is generally considered to be more reliable and might require less maintenance over time.
Model: Fabia Break Elegance 2010, 1.2 TSI. Author. Posted 20 December, 2013. Well, just to update it seems my complaining had some effect, because the importer has increased the discount on the reconditioned engine to 50%, bringing the cost down to about 2000 euros.
776. Location: Manchester. Model: 2019 Seat Ibiza Xcellence Lux 115PS TSI. Posted 18 April, 2017. The new 1.0 TSI is supposedly more efficient- when the Polo got the 1.0 TSI 110PS the official figures increased from being about 60 mpg to 65 mpg (dipping below the magic 100g CO2 in the process).
Re: 1.6 TDI - How reliable. by Doc » Thu Nov 03, 2016 10:49 am. The 1.6 injectors are quite easy to remove, you can use the compression to "assist". To install a replacement, you'll need the injector, the washer/seals and a new seal for the fuel return line. The bolt is of the stretch variety so you shouldn't reuse it.
