🎾 Dark Souls Backstab Not Working
My understanding is that all the weapon catalysts (blue flame, mace of the insolent, spontoon) get reduced damage both on physical attacks and spells when in the left hand, while standard catalysts don't. The Shield catalysts also do not get reduced damage, as shields do full damage in either hand.
Im sure a lot of you guys who played Dark Souls 1 saw this happen a bunch. The new backstab mechanic in Dark Souls 2 doesnt allow this. It's funny how a lot of the weird online mechanics in Dark Souls 1 were such a happy accident - sure they were broken, but they came together in a way that it wasnt nearly as frustrating as it could have been."
By The_Jackel. This guide is for a mod called Of Ash and Dust. This is a fairly new mod for Dark Souls Remastered that is an overhaul mod. It adds new enemies, spells, weapons, armor, bonfires, bosses and more! However, this mod also shuffles so items and NPCs around causing it to be a little tricky to locate specific items.
Yes, but if it didn't work like that, getting a backstab would be heavily dependent on connection. Dark Souls 3 doesn't need even more ways of punishing aggression, and no game wants mechanics that sometimes just flat out don't work when properly executed.
The Umbral Dagger is a dagger in Dark Souls II: Crown of the Old Iron King. Drop from Fume Sorcerers in Brume Tower and the Iron Passage. As it is mentioned in the description, the Umbral Dagger is a dagger made for backstabs, possibly being the dagger with the highest backstab modifier in the game, and capable of matching the damage of a Mundane infused +10 Shadow Dagger, when unupgraded
Bleed and poise are not exploits. Like it or not, they're intended mechanics of the game. Call me salty, but Dark Souls PVP is a lot more fun when people lay off exploiting glitches and just dual. When it becomes all about the backstab you lose 90% of the gameplay (not to mention limiting the range of viable weapons).
The other issue is, when you quit the game, you get sent back to the menu screen with the "press start" prompt. You press start and before you can even quit the game, it has to check to see if it can connect to the servers. Of course, I just force quit the game, but I don't want to do that, and of course shouldn't have to.
a fix would be just make it double check on both sides like ds3, but still have the "hit confirm" that ds2 had in order to get it off vs no hit confirm that ds3 had resulting in facestabs. instead of doing the stab animation, you would do a grab animation like 7:10 in amirs video (hit for 1 dmg). if you successfully "grab" the player, it would

I mean, I don't but, I'm a glutton for punishment. That said, this was not actually advice, hence the stupid smiley. High DEX && ADP with no weight, you're down to roll. You'll die instantly but it's still fun -- I mean it's Dark Souls "fun" but it's fun
The backstab is basically the same as in dks2. It has the same amount of startup frames. The only difference is the animation (a successful backstab was indicated when the fist connected at the end of the startup frames in dks2, in dks3, this is invisible), and the attack after it whiffs (no damage in dks2, r1 dmg and properties in dks3).
